๐ถ๐ Learning Through Music! ๐๐ถ
Today in music class, our Cubs were Engaged Citizens as we learned about the incredible life and legacy of Dolly Parton! ๐๐ค
Through the book Dolly!, students learned about Dollyโs life and the lasting mark she has made on the world through her music, kindness, generosity, and empathetic spirit. ๐
We listened to ๐ต Coat of Many Colors and then got creative by coloring our very own coats! ๐๐๏ธ Students were reminded that itโs not what we have on the outside that matters mostโitโs the love and kindness we carry on the inside. โค๏ธ
What a beautiful way to Love. Learn. Lead. ๐ป๐

๐๐ Our Class Is a Family! ๐๐
Mrs. Whiteโs and Mrs. Shepherdโs Cubs read Our Class Is a Family and celebrated what makes their classroom community so special by making friendship bracelets! ๐งตโจ
As Active Collaborators and Engaged Citizens, students talked about kindness, belonging, and how we can support one another. ๐ค๐ Each bracelet included meaningful bead colors:
๐ด Red: Be kind
๐ Orange: Be respectful
๐ก Yellow: Be yourself
๐ข Green: Be different
๐ต Blue: Stick together
๐ฃ Purple: Make memories
Each bracelet was a little reminder that we are stronger when we learn and grow together!
We love building classrooms where every Cub feels valued, connected, and ready to love, learn, and lead! ๐พ๐

๐ชฑ๐ Can We Save Fred?! ๐๐ชฑ
Mrs. Blackburnโs class took on a STEM challenge with one important mission: SAVE FRED! ๐จ๐ชฑ Students worked together to rescue Fred the worm, using teamwork, cooperation, and problem-solving skills to figure out the best way to complete the challenge. ๐ก๐ค
This hands-on activity was about so much more than saving a worm! It helped our Cubs practice Active Collaboration and Problem Solving while learning how to communicate, cooperate, and work together toward a common goal. ๐ง โจ
Most importantly, our Cubs were building a stronger classroom communityโlearning that sometimes the best solutions happen when we work together! ๐๐พ
Another fun way to love, learn, and lead at SCES! ๐

We can't wait to have our Cubs show off our school to their families!

Who's ready to play some football? ๐

๐ฌ๐ฑ Exploring, Creating, and Solving in the STEAM Lab! ๐ฑ๐ฌ
It was a busy week in the SCES STEAM Lab! ๐ก Our young scientists and innovators made observations, investigated plant structures, solved plant โpatientโ mysteries, and transformed ordinary sticks into imaginative creations. ๐ฟ๐ฉบ๐ชตโจ
Through every activity, our Cubs practiced curiosity, creativity, collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solvingโthe heart of STEAM learning! They showed what it means to be Empowered Learners as they asked questions, explored new ideas, and worked together to find solutions. They also demonstrated the competencies of Problem Solvers, Effective Communicators, Collaborators, and Innovators as they observed carefully, shared ideas, designed creative solutions, and learned from one another. ๐๐ป
We love watching our Cubs Love. Learn. Lead. through hands-on discovery and innovation! ๐

๐๐ญ Courage and Kindness in the Classroom! ๐ญ๐ Mrs. Abellโs and Mrs. Mooneyโs Cubs listened to the story Spaghettiโs in a Hot Dog Bun: Having the Courage To Be Who You Are before enjoying their own snack! ๐ญโจ The story reminded them about the importance of being courageous, staying true to themselves, and showing kindness to others. ๐ Our Cubs practiced being Empowered Learners as they listened, reflected, and connected the storyโs message to their own lives. They also showed what it means to be Kind Leaders by thinking about how their words and actions can make a difference! ๐ We love watching our Cubs Love. Learn. Lead.โwith courage and kindness every day! ๐๐ป

๐จ๐ฅ Creativity in the Art Room! ๐ฅ๐จ
Mrs. Whiteโs and Mrs. Shepherdโs Cubs had a blast creating in the art room with Ms. Pfeiffer! ๐๏ธโจ They started by drawing their very own Potato Head creations ๐ฅ๐๐ and then got to let their imaginations take over during some free-drawing time! ๐จ๐๏ธ
This creative experience helped our Cubs practice being Empowered Learners as they made choices, explored their own ideas, and expressed themselves through art. They also put on their Problem Solver hats as they figured out how to bring their Potato Head designs to life! ๐ก๐จ
We love watching our Cubs Love. Learn. Lead.โone creative idea at a time! ๐๐ป
