Taylorsville Elementary School

1st Grade worked hard during UFLI this week on the FLSZ or Doubling Rule. They ended the week practicing their skills and being active collaborators to generate words for a craft.

🐾 Our Tiger Talk groups met for the first time today! Students met new group members and used a spider web activity to see how we’re all connected and stronger as a team.

TES Families: Tomorrow is our first Tiger Talk! Students should wear their house shirt or house colors. Tiger Lair will be open. There are NEW items!

Mrs. Whitely’s 2nd grade students are being accountable collaborators and effective communicators by giving feedback to their peers on their personal narratives.

During our UFLI block, Kindergarten is already learning how to read and write letters, words, and sentences!!

Grandparents Day wrapped up yesterday with 2nd and 3rd grade students! Thank you to all of our grandparents and families who came to eat lunch with your students. Big thank you to our volunteers, PTO, and cafeteria staff for making this a special week for everyone!

Today, Mrs. Brooks’ 5th grade students were in Mr. Rovetto’s class for a fun and engaging activity. Students practiced their quick math facts using mental math strategies — keeping their brains sharp while having a great time! 🧠➕✖️ We love seeing our Tigers working together and growing their skills during WIN time! 🐯💡

Mrs Hutt’s reading classes began a reading incentive this week. Once a student reads a book, they summarize it and earn a bead for their necklace. We can’t wait to see how colorful our necklaces get!
