One Community, One Heart, and One Mission:
For the past couple of days, Engineering students from the 3D printing class have been working together with ECE students from across the hallway. All five aspects of the Profile of a Learner were visible. While exhibiting their active collaborator and effective communicator skills, the 3D printing students began by asking the ECE students what they wanted them to 3D print as a gift for each of them. Then the 3D printing students had to display their problem-solving skills in order to design various items like a train, basketball, keychain, heart, and even a Yoda head in the CAD software. At the of the project, the Engineering students were definitely empowered learners who are engaged citizens. Thank you for Kim Hahn, Debbie Hardin, Donna LaFear, Tonya Bentley, and Rachel Coleman for letting your students come to Engineering class. Every student left with a new friend and a greater appreciation for the power of 3D printing!

We want to make you aware that a water main break in the area has led Spencer County High School to cancel after-school activities today. Our team is in constant communication with the City, and we are grateful for their quick response and partnership.
At this time, we do not anticipate any impact on school operations for tomorrow, Wednesday, September 3, 2025. If that changes for any reason, we will notify you immediately.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we work together to keep things running smoothly.
Dr. Willie Foster

As we navigate this young school year, we want to ensure our district communication systems are a point of pride. Your ability to receive timely and accurate information, especially during an emergency, is one of our top priorities.
Today, we are conducting a comprehensive test of our communication systems, which includes phone calls, text messages, emails, and app notifications. This test will help us verify that our systems are working correctly and that your contact information is up to date.
To help us ensure a seamless communication experience for everyone, we kindly ask that you take a few moments to do the following:
Update Your Information: Whenever you change your phone number or email address, please call your child's school or the district office to have your contact information updated. We can't reach you if our records aren't accurate!
Keep Your SC Schools App Updated: Please make sure the SC Schools app is installed and regularly UPDATED on your device and that notifications are turned ON. This is one of the fastest ways we will communicate important information.
Let Us Know If You Didn't Receive It: If you did not receive this message as a phone call, text, email, and app notification, please let us know so we can help resolve the issue for you.
Thank you for your partnership. We are committed to making sure we can connect with every one of our families. We look forward to a fantastic school year!
Sincerely,
Dr. Willie Foster,
Superintendent

As you are aware, we have hired three new full-time drivers to help address capacity challenges and improve on-time arrivals. With that being said, several bus route changes will take effect Monday. These updates will help balance loads, reduce travel times, and keep routes running efficiently. As we continue to grow as a district, we will face some growing pains. Attached is information relating to route changes, an announcement has also been posted in Rooms.
The following routes will have changes โ some are major, some are minor: ๐, ๐, ๐, ๐, ๐, ๐, ๐, ๐๐, ๐๐, ๐๐, ๐๐, ๐๐, ๐๐.
Please verify the stop times and locations for your student. Weโve made high school and middle school loading as efficient as possibleโboth schools now clear the lot in about three minutes. Our elementary departure times depend entirely on how quickly the high school/middle school routes run which is part of the puzzle we are working to solve. With many sports starting earlier, and temperature, our goal is to get students home as quickly as possible.
๐๐ฅ๐๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ฒ ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ โ Please update your childโs transportation tag with the correct route before Monday morning. Stop times are estimates and will briefly change as we run these new routes. There are very few actual stop locations have changed. Some times may be big adjustments, but theyโll help close the gap between first and last drop-offs, get students home earlier, and leave a little more room on buses.
We know it will take a few days to settle into the new schedule, but these changes will make a positive difference for all riders.
If you have any questions, please email cameron.chesser@spencer.kyschools.us or send a message to me in Rooms and I will answer throughout the weekend.

Have a great last night of summer, and we can't wait to see you in the morning!

Welcome Back to Spencer County High School!
As we open the doors to the 2025-2026 school year, Spencer County High School is excited to welcome back our students, staff, and families for another year of learning, growth, and achievement. This year, we are continuing our strong commitment to academic excellence and student success. Our dedicated teachers and staff are prepared to challenge and support students as they work toward their goals in the classroom.
Academic success remains at the heart of everything we do. Whether students are preparing for college, careers, or service after graduation, we are focused on providing the tools, instruction, and resources they need to excel. We encourage students to take ownership of their education, stay engaged in their learning, and reach out when they need support.
In addition to academics, we know that a well-rounded high school experience includes involvement beyond the classroom. We strongly encourage all students to participate in at least one extracurricular activityโwhether itโs sports, band, clubs, or volunteer work. These opportunities build character, leadership skills, and lifelong friendships while connecting students to our school community in meaningful ways.
Weโre proud of the tradition of excellence at Spencer County High School, and we are confident that this school year will be filled with new opportunities and lasting memories. Letโs work togetherโstudents, families, and staffโto make the 2025-2026 school year the best one yet!
