🪱🌎 Earth Day Explorations in Mrs. Johnson’s Class! 🌎🪱 Yesterday, our Cubs celebrated Earth Day by digging into the world of worms! 🌿✨ Students read a nonfiction text to learn how worms help our planet, then stepped into the role of scientists as they explored worm parts and habitats. 🔍📚 The learning continued outside with a nature walk to collect materials for their very own worm habitat! 🐾🌱 Students recorded their findings on observation sheets and will check back later this week to see how the worms have burrowed and changed their environment. Our Cubs were true Problem Solvers, Active Collaborators, and Empowered Learners—asking questions, making observations, and learning through hands-on discovery! 💡 What a fun and meaningful way to love, learn, and lead while celebrating our Earth! 💙🐾

🌎💚 Earth Day Fun in Mrs. Lewis & Mrs. Jamie’s Class! 💚🌎 Our Cubs had a wonderful day celebrating our amazing planet! 🌿✨ They explored the beauty right outside our doors with a nature scavenger hunt, got their hands dirty planting seeds, and said a special goodbye to the butterflies they’ve watched grow and transform. 🦋🌱 Throughout the day, students shined as Engaged Citizens and Empowered Learners, discovering ways to care for our world while learning through hands-on experiences. 🌍💡 Such a fun day full of curiosity, appreciation, and growth—just another way we love, learn, and lead at SCES! 💙🐾

🌪️📚 Weather Wonders in 2nd Grade! 📚🌪️ Our SCES 2nd grade Cubs were true Empowered Learners! 💡 They read Twisters & Other Terrible Storms and then brought their learning to life with a special visit from meteorologist Bryce Jones from WDRB! ⛅🎤 Students made real-world connections, asked great questions, and explored the science behind severe weather. What an exciting way to deepen understanding and spark curiosity! 🌩️✨ We love seeing our Cubs love, learn, and lead through hands-on experiences! 💙🐾

🌟💙 Celebrating Our Incredible Volunteers! 💙🌟 Today, we had the joy of hosting our Volunteer Luncheon, and it was truly a special time to honor those who give so much of themselves to our school community! 🐾 Our guests enjoyed a delicious lunch prepared and served by our amazing cafeteria staff 🍽️, received heartfelt handwritten notes from our Student Council 💌, and were gifted beautiful flowers generously donated by the high school FFA program 🌸🌱. Each detail was a small way to say a BIG thank you for the time, love, and service our volunteers pour into SCES all year long. 🌊🐻 Countdown to Kindergarten was a splash-tastic success! 🐻🌊 Tonight at Spencer County High School, we had the BEST time welcoming our newest little learners to the SCES family! 💙 Our future Cubs got to meet our amazing kindergarten teachers, explore what school will be like, and get excited for the year ahead. 🐾📚 They even went home with fun activities to practice over the summer, because learning never stops when you’re a Cub! We are so excited to Dive Into Learning 🌊🐠 with this incredible group next year. ⚾💜 Baseball Day at SCES! 💜⚾ 85 years ago, Jackie Robinson made history by playing his first game as a Brooklyn Dodger—breaking barriers and changing the game forever. 🙌✨ Yesterday, our Purple Pod honored that legacy by celebrating our 2nd Annual Baseball Day with our very own Spencer County Baseball Team! 🐻⚾ It was a fun-filled day for our current Bears and future Bears, full of smiles, teamwork, and school spirit. 💜 Our Cubs showed what it means to be Engaged Citizens, learning about history while celebrating the game and those who inspire us. 🌟 At SCES, we continue to love, learn, and lead—on and off the field! 💙🐾
