The goal of the Youth Service Center (YSC) is to connect students and families with the resources they need to promote academic achievement, healthy lifestyles, and future success.

The YSC provides:

• Referrals to health & social services.

• Employment counseling, training and placement.

• Summer and part-time job development.

• Drug and alcohol abuse education/counseling.

• Family crisis and mental health counseling.

• Educational Support.

The Backpack budy program provides families with a food need, a bag of food each week for their student(s). The Items are single serve, easy to prepare meals or snacks. Currently the Family Resource and Youth Service Center (FRYSC) are serving about 250 students from PreK-12th grade. Table Talks is an extension of The Dinner Table Project geared toward having meaningful conversations with your teenager. We know that open communication and a strong relationship with your child starts at a young age; however, the conversation needs to continue into adolescence and young adulthood. We're here to help! The Youth Service Center works with their Advisory Council and encourages involvement from various areas of the community.  These include the following:

Meetings are held bi-monthly at the Spencer County Extension Office.  Meetings are open to the public.  Please call for more details.
